This meta-analysis included 14 studies comprising 756 patients with sinonasal cancer treated with PT. The pooled rate of grade ≥ 3 acute and late toxicity were 31.9% and 35.3%, respectively. The most common grade ≥ 3 toxicities were mucositis (15.3%) in acute and ocular toxicity (9.6%) in late toxicity. The pooled 5-year overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), local control (LC), regional control (RC), and distant metastasis control (DMC) rate were 36.8%, 34.2%, 35.6%, 28.6%, and 54.3%, respectively. The authors concluded that PT demonstrates favorable OS and DFS with acceptable rates of toxicity consistent with other published outcomes with highly conformal radiation techniques.
