A review article by the MGH group summarized clinical data of particle therapy for chordoma, chondrosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, osteosarcoma, retroperitoneal sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, and special settings such as pediatric, large extremity and reirradiation. The authors stated that supportive data exists and it is widely accepted that particle therapy can improve the therapeutic ratio for sarcomas requiring high doses of radiation, in locations adjacent to critical structures and for young patients.
