PRONTOX – a randomized control trial.
Although radiochemotherapy with photons is the standard treatment for now for locally advanced NSCLC, but acute radiation-induced toxicity such as esophagitis and pneumonitis can be potentially life-threatening.
The Dresden group has commenced this randomized control trial that aims to show a decrease of 39% to 12% of early and intermediate radiation-induced toxicity using proton therapy.
