Pencil-beam scanning proton therapy for the treatment of glomus jugulare tumours.
This study by the group from Prague, Czech Republic, reported early outcomes of 12 patients with glomus jugulare tumours (GJT) treated with IMPT to a median dose of 54 GyE with daily fractions of 2 GyE. With a median follow-up time of 42.2 months, this study reported stabilisation of tumour size on MRI in all patients. No changes in symptoms were observed in comparison with pre-treatment conditions. No late effects of radiotherapy were observed.
